Reviews for this host's other properties
we (4 girls!) stayed for one week at Helena Square 25. The accomodation is located in a very good area of London very close to the river Thames and the Thames Path to London City. It was clean, we had a kitchen with all necessary things, fresh towels and bed linen, hairdryer...
At the moment there is a warm water-problem, but Sydney explained us, how to use the warm water, so that everything was at least fine. He also helped us with the minicab and gave us all the information we needed. Thank you very much, I do recommend this accomodation and Sydney as well as a good host. I'm sure that I'll return to this place...
Best Wishes, Fatma
In the beginning we were a bit disappointed, as nobody was there nor reachable on the phone as we arrived and it took some time to get into the appartment (we would suggest to make a fixed arrangement). Further we would have preferred to know that the way from the overground station to the appartment is quite long with heavy suitcases.
But then everything was all right: Sidney is a kind guy and gave us good instruction for the appartment. All equipment was at present and working, beds were good and we appreciated very much the wooden floor in the rooms. With 5 people it was no problem to get along, having two bedrooms and a sofa in the living room. Maybe one or two reading lights for the evening would be helpful and the fixing of the shower needs a repair.
From New Kent Road there are a lot of busses to the center of London, you'll get everywhere easily and can get into contact with different kind of people.
We can remmoned Sidneys appartment especially to other families who are not keen on having lots of night life nearby. If you are looking for a base to visit London for reasonable value-for-money it is definetely all right.
We enjoyed our stay and the room was clean and fitted out with only the bare essentials but we really didn't need any more than that. The bathroom and shower were very clean and we were pleasantly surprised by the fact that we could have used the kitchen for breakfast or to make a hot drink if we had been better prepared. One small criticism: there was only a central naked bulb in the room, which gave a harsh light and the impression of being in a storeroom! It would have been much nicer if there had been at least a lampshade on the light. We would have welcomed bedside lights too. However that said, we would most certainly visit again as our impression was overall a positive one.
Sidney is a very friendly and helpfull person. the flat was a bit crowded but the room was good and clean. Quiet neighbourhood. Shops and bus / subway stations are within a short distance.
Sidney is a kind guy and a good host.
Unfortunately the water heater had just broken down when we arrived and that caused some troubles when we wanted to take a bath.
The area Rotherhithe where the apartment is placed is pretty nice and I can recommend it.
The room was workable for the price of it. All facilities needed were there. Including washing mashine. Nice area to stay in. Though a bit far from the city. Unfortunately there was a reparation of the New Cross Gate station during our stay so there were replacement busses going instead. A bit tricky at ones first stay in London, but the staff at the stations and busses were awsome to explain and help out. So it was really not a problem. Can indeed plan to stay there again if going back to London.
This is a good place for a family or small group of friends. The apartment is as in the pictures. The area is very residential and well connected by transport. There are also enough shops in the area. We found it useful to have free parking outside the apartment. We would book this apartment again.
Great apartment for the price. Much cheaper than a hotel. Links to the centre are good. There are shops and pubs in the area and a large Sainsbury's about 10 minutes away. The host was very accommodating.
The apartment was nice and included two double bedrooms and some extra sleeping in the lounge. There was also a decent kitchen and bathroom. The walk to the station was fairly quick and from there we were in the centre in about 10 minutes. There are also good bus links from New Cross Road to the centre. Sidney was really nice and very keen to help us.
Recommendable apartment and the host also. Everything as described, full kitchen, bathroom ok, clean and cozy. Great location - New Cross station 5 min walk (centrum max 30 min), bus from the house to Westminster 40-50 min (7x24h), supermarket 5 min walk. Great price for this place.
