If you prefer to walk along the Rhine, you will need about 10 minutes to the busy ‚Altstadt’ with plenty of bars and restaurants. The famous shopping area around the ‚Königsallee’ is also just 10 – 15 minutes away.
The connection to all kinds of public transport is very good (within a 2-minute-walk you can reach all bus/train stops), the main train station is just 10 minutes, the fair ground and airport are just 15-20 minutes by public transport/taxi.
Due to its central but still quiet location, Unterbilk is indeed one of the most popular and charming quarters of Düsseldorf. There is a huge variety of small cafés, bars and all kinds of restaurants in our neighbourhood. Just around the corner, on Düsseldorf’s well-known Lorettostrasse, you will find very good shopping amenities like supermarkets and small shops as well as trendy design and fashion shops. For all who prefer fresh food directly from the market: there is a farmer’s market twice a week just a few steps away.
So if you would like to stay right in the heart of Düsseldorf but are still looking for a good night’s sleep – your search has come to an end.
Clean sheets and towels are provided for and changed regularly. If you would like us to fill the fridge for breakfast, just let us know (you will just have to pay our expenses, no extra charge).

I was so impressed with the quality and accurate information supplied by the WIMDU reservation system. It gave me the information to choose one of the best locations for my visit to Dusseldorf, I could have possibly found . Annette the owner of the DusselApp apartment was always letting me know her schedule in advance, so if I needed anything she would make sure it happend. I have traveled to nearly 60 countries and have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world.
Whenever possible I like to stay at a small hotel our a bed and breakfast. From now on I will check the WIMDU website to see if I can find an apartment. In whatever city I am in. The apartment DusselApp is exactly as Annette called it "a home away from home"
In most major cities it takes several trips to get a basic understanding of the city. I was in Dusseldorf last summer and stayed at a branded hotel chain close to the area where DusselApp is located.
While the hotel was probably only 2 KM away from where Annette's apartment is located. The apartment is located in a true neighborhood, with most everything needed within a short walk. Here is a list of just a few of the places I frequented; a full size food market with a great bakery was 1/2 block from my door, across the street were a laundry and dry cleaners, a pharmacy, at least 5 different cafes, and ice cream parlor, and excellent Korean restaurant, a florist, many botiques with great window displays of their fashionable clothing and several banks with ATM's. It was busy during the days and quiet at night, as I had a window open most of my 10 days stay.
As for the Apartment, it is again exactly as Annette described. She is very good at what she does as she helps companies throughout the Rhine river area with there coporate reports. I had a severe attack of bronchitis the day I left for Dusseldorf and was sick for the first 5 days I was in the city. It really was like being ar home to walk 50 meters to a grocery for food and across the street to the pharmacy where my German doctor who knew the pharmacist made sure I was getting better. Having access to your own kitchen is such an asset. The saving on the cost of food for my entire stay alone is more than what 2 days at the hotel charged for their breakfast.
I think the best thing I could say about my experience at the DusselApp apartment is Annette is someone you would want to be your neighbor.
