An abundance of restaurants, intimate cafes, boutiques, and lots of shopping on Broadway. Best of all you are in a 5 minute walk to SoHo, Chinatown, East Village, and the Lower East Side. Perfect for one to three guests, including children.
If you don't mind a 5 floor walk up and a bathtub in the kitchen this place is perfect for your New York adventures.
The apartment is a zen space, quiet, sunny and simple, located is in a beautiful historic tenement building built in the year 1900.
It is fully renovated, clean and has red floors!
1 full bed
1 couch / full day bed
built in kitchen
A/C and good heat
stove and oven
WIFI internet connection (for your laptop)
and lots of open space.
During renovation I decided to keep the original (extremely comfortable) bathtub in the kitchen, so you will be living like the original immigrants lived, taking relaxing baths or use the shower head attached to the bath tub faucet for a quick rinse.
I've been renting this apartment for over 5 years, it's a great find so book quickly. If you have any questions before or during your stay please contact me.
I am a New York artist and teacher, I have a couple of pieces of art in the apartment, am may have a gallery show in NYC. You booking this apartment directly supports the arts.
I will meet you in person to check you in and point out the best parts of the neighborhood. New York has everything, so good to have some research done before arriving.
You have the WHOLE apartment to yourself. It is a quiet and sunny place.
I live close by in the East Village.
About the neighborhood...
Elizabeth Street is in the NoLita (North of Little Italy) area, and has plenty of unique shopping, restaurants nice bars. My favorite restaurants include Cafe Gitane (hangout for models, artists, and great food and excellent coffee), and Cafe Habana feet away from our front door.
The original St. Patricks Church is right across from Cafe Gitane. (Featured in the film Gangs of New York by Martin Scorsese). Try to see this film before arriving - you will recognize some of the buildings! There is also the Tenement Museum close by. It focuses on America's urban immigrant history, and is a wild look into how people lived and worked in New York in the turn of the century.
The apartment is on a beautiful street, very close to the Bowery, East Village, SoHo, Chinatown, and has many subways in a few blocks including the B,D,F,V to Broadway-Lafayette | 6 to Spring St. | J,M to Bowery. It is very easy to get uptown and to Brooklyn. You can walk over the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge too, just about 1/2 an hour stroll away.
Close to the Broadway/Lafayette subway station and Spring Street no. 6 train in Manhattan. Plenty of shopping and restaurants, a 5 minute walk to Chinatown, SoHo, Lower East Side.
Here are 3 of my favorite live music places in the lower east side, a ten minute walk:
the Mercury Lounge
Thank you for looking! - Joseph

Reviews of this property
We had a wonderful week in New York. The location of this apartment is absolutely perfect! Nolita is a homely, friendly and cosy area with lots of shops and restaurants with great character. Close to several subway stations that takes you fast uptown and to Brooklyn.
Our contact with Joseph have been very satisfying from the first day we booked the apartment, he met us there with the keys although our flight was two hours late and we arrived at 11:30 at night. He had tips and information about the city and said we could contact him during the week with any questions. The apartment was as expected, 5 floors without lift, we knew that, no problem as all the eating requires som exercise! The bath tub in the kitchen was okey but a bit inconvenient, but we knew about that too.
To stay at Joseph's was just perfect!
A cozy and unique place filled with handpicked particularities in a wonderful district with special shops, great restaurants, chilly cafés, relaxed New Yorkers and truely the best cheescake in town just around the corner...
You find everything you want and all you need just a foodwalk away...and if you need more: the subway is right there and such strategically located that you can get everywhere without spending too much time under ground.
Joseph gave us a warm welcome, good insidertips and the feeling that we really found a home for the time of our stay.
And folks believe us: we've had the fun of our lifetime with the "original tub"...
The apartment is in a fantastic location - very central and close to subway too. The accommodation is as described/pictured. Obviously not luxury, but comfortable and spacious and we were very happy with it and really enjoyed our stay.
Josephs studio apr is great, the interior is cool, the location is amazing and you will find everything you need. Joseph is very nice and he will help you, if any problems occur.
Joseph is a very nice host answering all the fears and questions we had!
Tha appartent was nice as well even if you have to climb five floors which is hard after a day walking in Manhattan.
The bath tube is in the main room so even your not modest or with you girl/boyfriend (like me though)
For the rest, Joseph forseen everything in the appartment! Tea/coffee if you want before living the room, umbrellas in case of rain, music,...
And the neighbourhood!! So well located in the middle of Soho/Noho/little Italy and China town!
Finally the price is very convenient compare to what you can find in Manhattan and in this area
I would choose the same if I had to come again!
Thank you Joseph, cool experience is this city I love :-)
We had a very nice stay at Joseph's appartment.
Picking up the key went smoothly and Jospeh took the time to show us the appartment and tell us about the neighborhood.
The appartment was cosy and clean and it's location is perfect. I would have no hesitation reccomending it to a friend.
On recommande ! Thank you Joseph for this nice stay!
