The Gold Coast’s heart, Surfers Paradise, (or just Surfers) is the one of the most popular holiday destinations in Australia. The perfect swimming beaches and year round sun have made it a popular choice with families looking for a getaway. As well as enticing young families, Surfers is a great party destination and is swarmed with Schoolies in the last weeks of November. Great sunbathing, surfing and swimming by day make way for awesome pubs and clubs at night, offering the perfect concoction for young men and women looking to take a break.
Accommodation and Apartments on the Gold Coast.
Hotels are plentiful in the Gold Coast’s central districts. Families and groups however, are best served looking into holiday rentals. These are often luxury self-catering apartments, and are a good value option for families and large groups who want to enjoy the holiday together. Surfers Paradise hosts many events, such as the Gold Coast 600 race and Schoolies, and during these busy times accommodation is hard to come by, so make sure you book your rentals early if you think you’ll be affected.

With an abundance of theme parks and family attractions all within a short drive, you’re never short of things to do. Stretching three kilometres up the Queensland coastline, Surfers Paradise Beach is arguably the best all-round beach in Australia. Visitors love shopping in Surfers Paradise as it offers a wide selection of Australian and international designers. As you would expect, it’s a great spot to find the perfect pair of swimmers. Most big brands can be found along the main Cavill Avenue Mall which stretches from the beach into the main town. Another popular shopping location is found a little higher up the highway at Chevron Renaissance. For a spot of evening retail therapy in Surfers, look no further than the Night Markets. Held every Wednesday and Friday evening, the market stalls offer food, handicrafts, jewellery and clothes along the promenade by the Surfers Paradise Beach. The beachfront has an array of eateries, with a wide range of modern Australian, Asian and European options. The restaurants and cafes in the area are excellent and among some of the best in Queensland. Surfers Paradise’s nightclubs are famed across Australia, and many come to the region just to experience the party scene. Orchid Avenue, which runs just off the main boulevard of Surfers, Cavill Avenue Mall, serves the main strip. Along here you will find busy bars, friendly pubs and late night clubs. Wednesday to Saturday offers the best party nights, and will remain packed until the early hours of the morning.
